The Inland Empire Association of Certified Fraud Examiners is honored to host David Fleck as he presents on the top 10 Current Trends in Real Estate Fraud. Fraudsters never stop looking for new ways to steal money in the real estate because each parcel of property represents a pot of gold to them. In this class, we will explore the current techniques that con artists use to extract money from property including home title theft, mortgage fraud, affinity fraud and investment fraud. We will also discover the criminal and civil laws that apply to these crimes.

An attorney since 1997, Mr. Fleck began his career at the U.S Customs Service fighting import fraud. He moved on to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, where as a deputy DA he prosecuted felonies and complex financial crimes, including real estate, investment, business, insurance, and loan fraud as well as identity theft, forgery, financial elder abuse, and money laundering for 10 years. In private practice since 2009, Mr. Fleck has represented fraud victims in civil lawsuits to recover real property and money, and he has represented those (wrongfully!) accused of fraud and embezzlement.
